Clanton, Erb Race To Southern Nationals Wins At Senoia

Shane Clanton and Tyler Erb were both victorious in Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals Bonus Series action over the weekend at Georgia’s Senoia Raceway.

Clanton was the winner on Friday night, while Erb scored his first career series win on Saturday as a part of the weekend’s Showdown Shootout at Senoia.

On Friday night, Clanton led from start to finish en route to the $4,000 victory.

Clanton, of Zebulon, Georgia, led all 40 laps for his second series victory of the season.

One caution slowed the field on lap 11, as Joey Armistead spun in turn two, collecting Larry Harrod and Steven Roberts.

Ashton Winger finished in second place, with Michael Page in third, Erb in fourth and Tyler Millwood in fifth.

On Saturday night, it was Tyler Erb holding off a late race charge from Michael Page to score his first career series win.

Erb, who hails from Waverly, Texas, led 49 of the 50 laps for the $6,000 payday, and became the 11th different winner in 14 races so far this season on the tour.

Three caution flags slowed the feature. The first caution came on lap 14 as Cla Knight slowed in turn one. The second yellow flag came on lap 35 as William Thomas came to a stop in turn one, while the final caution came on lap 47 as Shane Clanton slowed on the back stretch with a right front flat tire.

Page finished in second, with Casey Roberts in third, Tyler Millwood in fourth and Austin Horton in fifth.

Local division winners on the weekend included Ronnie Johnson in Limited Late Models, Michael Page and Cody Overton in Crate Late Models, Dylan Knowles in Late Model Sportsman, Blant Duke in Hobby, Tony Coffman in Mini Stocks, Dalton Benefield and Jordan Benefield in Chargers, Brandon McDaniel in Bombers and Rick Ricks in Hot Shots.
