Clint Smith Takes SLM Win, Championship At Senoia

Georgia’s Senoia Raceway closed out the 2018 regular season on Saturday night, with Clint Smith scoring the Super Late Model feature on the 3/8-mile clay speedway.

The win wrapped up a championship season for the Senoia, Georgia driver, as he recorded his fourth straight SLM division at the raceway.

Other title winners on the night included Dorough Bright in Bombers, Joey Armistead in Limited Late Models, Marty Massey in Crate Late Models, Cory Compton in Late Model Sportsman, Keith West in Hobby and Tommy Faulkner in Mini Stock. The late Dean Williams, who passed this past summer, was declared the champion for the Hot Shot division at the time of his passing.

Smith was the only driver to take home his title with a win on Championship Night. Smith led flag to flag for the win ahead of Lamar Haygood in second and Dylan Knowles in third.

Cass Fowler led every single lap en route to on his to his second straight Limited Late Model feature victory. Dennis Hale ran second with Austin Horton third, Ahnna Parkhurst in fourth and Russ Ogletree in fifth.

Cruz Skinner was the winner in the Crate Late Model feature. Marty Massey finished second, followed by Chaz Haskins in third, Logan Palmer in fourth and Jamie Maurice in fifth.

Tanner Collins held off Jamie Nicholson, Jr. for the Late Model Sportsman feature victory. Jason Williams came home in third, followed by McKenna Nelms in fourth and Parris Simmons in fifth.

Mike Abercrombie took the win in the Chargers feature. Jason Turner, Jeff Robinson, Cole Compton and Dave McWilliams rounded out the top five.

Curtis Turner was the Bomber feature winner, holding off Scott Amoson for the victory. William Blair finished third, with Dorough Bright in fourth and Dustin Smith in fifth.

Blant Duke snagged the Hobby feature win, with Keith West in second, Landon DeGraff third, Ben Wells in fourth and Ted Willingham in fifth.

Joshua Till passed Grant Roberts near the halfway mark of the Mini Stock feature, and went on to take the win. Tommy Faulkner followed in third, with Bob Faulkner in fourth and Harold Leath in fifth.

Nathan Farrow led all fifteen laps en route to the Hot Shots feature win. Ernest Turner finished second with Shannon Stephens in third.
