Tissot Takes Rain Shortened Rupert Porter Memorial

Monday night’s Rupert Porter Memorial Shrine Race at Anderson Motor Speedway might not have gone the distance, but it went far enough for Lee Tissot.

Tissot was out front when the skies opened up over the Williamston, South Carolina raceway, bringing the Late Model Stock Car feature to a halt on lap 39.

Ryan Repko brought the field to green for the 100 lap feature from the pole, with Tissot alongside. Repko would pace the first eight laps before Tissot took over the point with rain threatening in the area.

Tissot would show the way until the race was halted just before lap 39. After meeting with track officials, the drivers decided to end the race there rather than returning at a later date.

That gave the Ashville, North Carolina driver the win and a $2,000 payday.

Trey Gibson finished in second, with Nolan Pope in third, Repko in fourth and R.A. Brown in fifth.

Kenneth Headen, Taylor Satterfield, David Roberts, Justin Sorrow and Ashton Higgins rounded out the top ten.

In other action, Jonathon Fleming took home the Limited feature victory. Alan Rich followed in second, with Steve Carver in third, Billy Brown in fourth and Philip Peters in fifth.

Sam Brown scored the win in the BM Modifieds feature, with Adam Callaham second, Dude Hannon third, Trent Smith fourth and Jamie Winslett fifth.

Jeffrey Kummer held off Ryan Howard for the Mini Stock feature victory. B.J. Thrasher finished in third, followed by Chad Campbell in fourth and Bobby Brock in fifth.

Chris Whitfield was the winner in the Renegade feature, followed by David Whitaker in second, Alex Guthrie in third, Vince Quinn in fourth and Mark Sullivan in fifth.

Lee Jordan took the victory in the U.S. Legends feature. Janson Marchbanks finished in second, with Danny Cisson in third, Karl Mosberg in fourth and Scott Wessel in fifth.

Scott Parker took home the Front Wheel Drive feature victory, with Manuel Molleda, Shane Brown, Casey Burkett and Tommy Davis rounding out the top five.

Mike Mote beat out Jamie McCall for the Pure Stock win. Dereck Burgess finished third, with Roger Gentry fourth and Rhonda Hall in fifth.
