Justin Sims dominated Saturday night’s Alpha Art Company Thunder Series feature, as the tour visited Georgia’s Winder-Barrow Speedway.

The Jefferson, Georgia speedster was able to hold off Billy Ruston en route to the $1,200 victory at the ¼ mile clay raceway.

Sims jumped out to the lead on the drop of the green flag, with Billy Rushton, Rod Roberts and Lee Gray in pursuit.

As Sims pulled out to a big advantage over the field, with Ruston in tow, the rest of the field jockeyed for position behind them. The action was broken up when a car rolled to a stop, bringing out the first caution of the night.

Sims would move back into the lead on the restart, but as he completed the next lap, trouble broke out behind him, as three cars tangled coming off the fourth turn, including Roberts and Andy Barton. That was followed by a red flag condition to allow track officials to clean up a fuel spill on the backstretch.

Back under green, Sims again moved to the lead, with Rushton, Roberts and Dink McKeehan in pursuit. The final caution of the night flew a few laps later when a car rolled to a stop on the backstretch.

On the restart, Rushton mounted a challenge on the outside of Sims as they duo raced down into turn one. Sims fended off Rushton and moved out into the lead. Behind the leaders, Royce Bray began challenging Roberts for third.

When the checkered flag flew, it was Sims scoring the win, with Ruston in second, Roberts in third, Bray in fourth and Gray in fifth.

In other action, Chad Puckett scored his second straight Limited Late Model feature victory. Scott Frady finished in second, with Ken Lampp in third, John Anderson in fourth and Shane Cox in fifth.

Tyler Canup edged out Wormy Gaddis for the Modified Street feature win, with Jimmy Lee Langley in third, Shane Peppers in fourth and Jordan Poole in fifth.

Mark Chancey took the victory in the Stock V8 feature, followed by Richard Clarke in second, Jeff Casper in third, Lewis Roberts in fourth and Ben Carswell in fifth.

Kyle Brawell was the winner in the Stock 4A feature. Arti Ridgeway finished in second, with Allen Cantrell in third, James Gaines in fourth and Justin Taylor in fifth.

Cody Peppers took top honors in the Stock 4B feature, with Brandon Cox second, Cody Albright third, Kyle Walker fourth, and William Earnest in fifth.
