Ryan Millington and Zach Bruenger both made trips to Hickory Motor Speedway’s victory lane on Saturday night, as the two drivers split the twin Late Model Stock Car features at the historic North Carolina raceway.
In the first feature, Millington jumped out to the early lead, with Dexter Canipe in pursuit. While Canipe was sidelined with engine woes, Austin McDaniel and Kres Vandyke would give chase.
Meanwhile, Zack Bruenger worked his way thorugh the field, moving up to second place. But he wasn’t able to catch Millington, who went on to score the win. Bruenger finished in second, with Evan Swilling in third, McDaniel in fourth and Mitch Walker in fifth.
In the second feature, Monty Cox and Tanner Gray paced the early laps, with Evan Swilling charging to the lead late in the going. Bruenger would close on Swilling over the closing laps, and would take the lead, with Canipe in tow.
In the end, it was Bruenger scoring his first NASCAR Whelen All American Series Late Model victory. Canipe finished in second, with Millington in third, Cox in fourth and Gray in fifth.
In other action, Mason Ludwig took the victory in the Limited Late Model feature. Dylon Wilson finished in second, with Pat Rachels in third, Josh Kossek in fourth and Vince Midas in fifth.
Jeff Sparks scored the win in the Street Stocks feature, followed by Marshall Sutton in second, Mark Whitten in third, Kevin Eby in fourth and Ethan Johnson in fifth.
Allison Houston topped the 4-Cylinder field to take the feature victory over Brian Mundy, with Dennis Ward, Donn Wardo and Randy Canipe rounding out the top five.
Bill Webb was the winner in the Classic Sportsman Racing feature, with Bill Powell in second and Robert Webb in third.
