Smith Scores Southern All Stars Win At Southern Raceway

G.R. Smith took the early lead of Saturday night’s Bash at the Beach for the Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series at Southern Raceway in Milton, Florida, and went on to his second career series victory.

After Friday night’s race was cancelled due to rain, all attention went to Saturday night’s event. Smith was one of six cars to break the track record in qualifying, as he timed in second quick to J.R. Mosley.

Smith powered to the lead on the drop of the green flag, and held on to the top spot through several restarts. Spencer Hughes was able to challenge Smith, but could never get a run strong enough to make the pass for the lead.

In the end, it was Smith holding on for the victory, with Hughes in second, Moseley in third, Joseph Joiner in fourth and Kitt Sealy in fifth.

Chris Smith, Jay Scott, Tristan Sealy, Devin Dixon and Ray McElhaney rounded out the top ten.

The Southern All Star Dirt Racing Series returns to action on April 21, as the series makes it’s first trip in 17 years to Duck River Raceway Park in Wheel, Tennessee.
