With a pair of Summit ET Drag Racing events on tap at Atlanta Dragway in Commerce, Georgia on Saturday, drivers had the opportunity to double up on wins.
In the first round of racing, Hank Wilhelm edged out division points leader Susan Spikes for the Super Pro victory. In the final, Wilhelm ran a 5.176 ET on his 5.10 dial in at 126.13 mph and a prefect 0.001 reaction time. Spikes ran a 5.027 ET on her 4.98 dial in at 135.18 mph and a reaction of 0.040.
In the Pro final, Chad Brewer defeated Mike Kolakowski with a 6.756 off his dial in of 6.74 at 98.30 mph and a great reaction of 0.006. Kolakowski ran a 6.714 ET off a 6.68 dial in at 97.91 mph and a 0.031 reaction time.
In the Sportsman final, Dickey Forrester took the win over Tracy Schaffer. Forrester ran an 11.591 ET on his 11.53 dial in (quarter mile) at 115.17 mph and a reaction time of 0.068. Schaffer ran a 14.661 ET (break out) with a dial in of 14.74 at 94.94 mph and a 0.051 reaction time.
In the second set of races, Brad Howard took the Super Pro victory over Jimmy Mayfield. Howard ran a 4.703 ET on his 4.68 dial in at 146.11 mph and a 1.001 reaction time. Mayfield ran a 5.099 ET off his 4.53 dial in at 119.88 mph but with a red light reaction of -.149.
Brent Wheeler got his first Pro win of the season over Robby Nelson by running a 6.617 on a 6.58 dial in at 97.52 mph and a 0.063 reaction time. Nelson ran a 7.147 ET off his 7.10 dial in at 95.94 mph and a 0.072 reaction.
In the Sportsman final, Harold Wilson scored his first win of the season over Russell Haskins. Wilson ran a 12.644 ET on his 12.62 dial in at 102.91 mph and a 0.037 reaction time. Haskins ran a 12.518 ET off a dial in of 12.52 (break out) at 112.18 mph and a 0.062 reaction time.
