House Edges Turner For Lavonia Hobby Stock Victory

Rusty House and Crandall Turner put on a show to remember for the fans at Georgia’s Lavonia Speedway on Saturday night.

House and Turner battled side-by-side for almost the entire first half of the Hobby Stock feature around the 3/8-mile clay raceway. While the racing was hot and heavy, the drivers never touched as they fought for the lead.

In the end, it was House edging out Turner for the victory. Shane Yarbrough followed in third, with Joey Yarbrough in fourth and Joe Cash in fifth.

Cody Smith, Cody Martin and Chayse York rounded out the finishing order.

Also on hand on Saturday night was the FUEL Late Model Racing Series made its first appearance at Lavonia Speedway, and it was quite a visit for Ben Watkins. After leading qualifying and winning his heat race, Watkins swept the night by leading all 50 laps en route to the feature victory.

Travis Pennington finished second, with David McCoy in third, Trent Ivey in fourth and Ricky Weeks in fifth.

Drew Collins, Matt Long, Steve Banal, Brayn Mullis and Ashely Poole rounded out the top ten.

In other action, Parker Herring held off Frankie Beard to score the Crate Late Model victory. Andrew Cole finished in third, with Adam Partain in fourth and Cody Pritchett in fifth.

Rusty Jordan took the win in the Modified feature. Daniel Doster finished in second, followed by Chase Burdette in third, Josh Thurmond in fourth and Johnny Pilgrim in fifth.

Jack Hill was the winner in the Stock V8 feature, with Dylan Golden, Darren Fowler, Tim Jones and Brody Hinton rounding out the top five.

Kevin Kelly was the unofficial winner in the Stock Four feature, pending results of a tire protest. Danny Dexton finished second, followed by Scott Hollars third, Chris Little fourth and Tyler Grice fifth.

Daniel Booth took the unofficial win in the Rookie feature, pending results of a tire protest. Nathanial Little came home in second, with Preston Kelly in third, Caylan Kettle in fourth and Jacob Kelly in fifth.

Hunter Anthony was the winner in the Up Front feature, with Justin Reed finishing in second, Aaron Limbaugh in third and Tony Newman in fourth.
