Morgan Turpen swept the USCS Sprint Car Series weekend, as she scored a pair of victories in the Volunteer State.
Turpen first took the win at Sweetwater, Tennessee’s I-75 Raceway on Friday night, then followed that up with another win at Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, Tennessee Saturday night.
On Friday night, Turpen charged from the sixth starting spot to take the lead on lap 18 from Terry Gray, then held off a late race charge from Derek Hagar to score the victory.
Hagar finished second, with Gray in third, Zach Daum in fourth and Matt Covington in fifth.
Jordon Mallett, Danny Sams III, Howard Moore, Bob Auld and Suwanee, Georgia’s Joe Larkin rounded out the top ten.
On Saturday night, Turpen led wire-to-wire to score her fifth USCS Sprint Car Series victory of the season with a win at Smoky Mountain.
Just as he had done the night before, Hager made a late charge on Saturday night, but came up short, having to again settle for a second place result.
Matt Covington finished third, with Jordan Mallett in fourth and Marshall Skinner in fifth.
Howard Moore, Joey Schmidt, Terry Gray, Lance Moss and Zach Daum rounded out the top ten.
The USCS Sprint Car Series now moves to Georgia’s Lavonia Speedway on Saturday, May 6 for the USCS Saturday Of Speed.
