Shane Clanton took the lead on lap two from Zach Leonhardi, and then led the rest of the way to score the win in the ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series South East Region feature on Saturday night at Georgia’s Senoia Raceway.
Clanton, from Zebulon, Georgia, completed the distance in just over 11 caution-free minutes to take home the $4,000 top prize for the win.
Casey Roberts of Toccoa, Georgia, started 11th, and without the aid of a caution flag, finished in third. Michael Page finished in fourth, with Jason Welshan in fifth.
Riley Hickman, Clint Smith, Tod Darda, Austin Horton and T.J. Reaid rounded out the top ten.
Leonardi took the lead at the start of the race with Clanton powering from his third starting spot to race the youngster side-by-side for the lead on the opening lap. Clanton took the lead for good on lap two coming off the fourth turn, and never looked back.
The ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series was slated to travel to Georgia’s Rome Speedway on Sunday night, but the race was postponed due to rainy weather. The event will now be held on May 7.
The series will next travel to North Carolina’s Dublin Motor Speedway for a $10,000 race weekend on April 28-29.
