For the second straight week, Hank Wilhelm went to the Winner’s Circle at the Atlanta Dragway in Commerce, Georgia with a victory in Saturday’s Summit ET Series Super Pro final.
Wilhelm defeated Michael Bruce in an all dragster final. Wilhelm, in his ’96 Ed Quay dragster, ran a 5.032 ET on a 5.02 dial in at 134.03 mph and a 0.014 reaction time. Bruce, in his Chevy dragster, ran a 4.870 ET off his 4.85 dial in at 141.98 mph and a 0.011 reaction.
In the Pro final, Wesley Tucker, in his ’68 Camaro, had an easy final when Jeff Wagner in his ’71 Duster was unable to get his car to complete the burn out and stage. Tucker ran a 7.162 ET on his dial in of 7.08at 87083 mph and a 0.089 reaction.
Dickey Forrester took the win in the Sportsman final when he ran a 11.607 ET on his 11.58 dial in at 107.93 mph with a reaction time of 0.041. John Snapp ran a 13.359 ET off his 13.39 dial in (break out) at 105.79 mph and a 0.120 reaction.
Tim Sutton took the Super Pro Bike final victory and the trach championship in one run. Sutton defeated Billy Orsino by running a 5.530 ET off his 5.51 dial in at 122.39 mph and a 0.021 reaction. Orsino ran a 5.652 ET off his 5.70 dial in (break out) at 120.41 mph and a reaction time of 0.048.
Randy Barnet defeated Jimmy Heisler in the Street ET Bike final. Barnett ran a 9.329 ET off a 9.31 dial in at 145.11 mph and a great reaction of 0.003. Heisler ran a 10.592 ET on his dial on of 10.57 (break out run) at 122.28 mph and a 0.048 reaction time.
In the 6-9 JR Dragster final, Cooper Hancock defeated Shawn Wilson with a run at 14.511 ET on his dial in of 14.10 at 42.51 mph and a 0.349 reaction time. Wilson ran a 14.481 ET on his 14.05 dial in at 42.45 mph and a reaction time of 0.445.
In the 10-12 JR Dragster final, Bruce Thaxton defeated Cannon Stiles with a run at 8.940 ET on his 8.90 dial in at 72.33 mph and a 0.129 reaction. Stiles ran an 8.959 ET off a dial in of 8.94 at 71.88 mph and a reaction time of 0.226.
In the 13-18 JR Dragster final, Jessie Daniel defeated Katie Wilhelm with a pass at 7.944 ET on her 7.90 dial in at 79.79 mph and a 0.032 reaction. Katie ran a 7.911 ET with a dial in of 7.90 at 81.13 mph and a 0.145 reaction.
Jackson Earwood took the Junior Street victory by defeating Makaila Hinsley. Earwood ran an 11.868 ET on his 11.85 dial in at 60.44 mph and a 0.139 reaction. Hinsley ran an 11.419 ET on her 11.35 dial in at 64.09 mph and a -0.091 reaction (foul).
