Ricky Blackwell sent four dragster racers home on Saturday as he marched his way to the Super Pro victory in Summit ET Drag Racing action at Commerce, Georgia’s Atlanta Dragway.
Blackwell, piloting a ’68 Nova, defeated Wesley Mayfield in his Worthy Dragster in the final round. Blackwell ran a 6.071 ET off his dial in of 6.06 at 113.68 mph and a 0.020 reaction time. Mayfield ran a 4.653 ET on his 4.61 dial in at 144.57 mph and a reaction of 0.012.
In the Pro final, Greg Allen in his ’80 Camaro came out on top in a close race with Jessie Wilson in his ’71 Nova. Allen ran a 6.899 ET on his 6.86 dial in at 99.68 mph and a 0.023 reaction. Wilson ran a 6.545 ET off his 6.47 dial in at 105.47 mph and a reaction of 0.027.
The Sportsman final was an all Chevy Truck show, as Ed Nalley in his ’83 Chevy defeated Louise Lindler in a Chevy S-10.
Nalley left early but left second to Lindler’s foul start. Nalley ran an 11.533 ET on his 11.53 (dead on) dial in at 114.71 mph and a reaction of -0.021. Lindler ran a 13.866 ET off her dial of 13.83 at 96.86 mph and the first red light start of -0.007.
In the Super Pro Bike finals, Jimmy Heisler on his ’00 Kawasaki defeated Craig Cross, also on a Kawasaki. Heisler ran a 6.760 ET on his 6.75 dial in at 101.76 mph with a reaction of 0.024. Cross ran a 6.499 ET off his 6.32 dial in at 112.33 mph and a 0.202 reaction.
In the Street ET Bike final, Randy Barnett on his ’08 Suzuki defeated Craig Cross on his Kawasaki in Cross’s second final of the day.
Barnett ran a 9.383 ET on his dial in of 9.33 at 137.69 mph with a reaction of 0.023. Cross ran a 10.112 ET on his 9.91 dial in at 136.62 mph and a 0.082 reaction.
