Donald McIntosh moved to the lead early on and drove away to score the Ultimate Super Late Model Series victory Saturday night at Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, TN.
The Dawsonville, Georgia driver netted a $5,000 payday for his night’s work in the Battle of the Bluegrass.
McIntosh started the night by setting fast time in qualifying with a lap at 16.980 seconds around the half-mile clay oval.
After starting from the pole, McIntosh worked near the front, and on lap eight, powered to the lead. From there, McIntosh went on to hold off Ricky Weiss for the win.
Toccoa, Georgia’s Casey Roberts finished in third, with Tommy Kerr in fourth and Kenny Collins in fifth.
Dennis Franklin, Derek Fisher, Ross Bailes, Anthony Sanders and Bobby Giffin rounded out the top ten.
The Ultimate Super Late Model Series returns to action on Saturday, June 25 at North Carolina’s Dublin Motor Speedway with $5,000 on the line for the winner.
