Tim Lollis survived an eventful debut feature for the Mulligan Power Truck Series at Greenville-Pickens Speedway in Easley, SC and beat out Andy Petree for the win.
Petree led the first lap of the 60 lap feature before being passed by Jamie Altop.
Luke Sorrow was racing in the top three when he went into turn one underneath Petree. Petree spun out, bringing out the first yellow flag of the event.
That incident also caused major damage to Randy Porter’s truck. Porter had to pit for extensive front end adjustments. When he returned, he had no front end sheet metal on the truck.
Sorrow was now the leader, with Jamie Tate, Greg Garrett, Randy Ballew and Mike Mote in pursuit. Sorrow saw his night take a down turn on lap 31 when his truck suddenly slowed and headed for the pits. He would rejoin the race at the back of the pack. That moved Altop ot the lead, with Lollis in pursuit.
The next restart would prove to be the major turning point in this race. Jamie Tate dove to the bottom on the green flag and made it three-wide going into turn one. There was contact, and Tate ended up in the wall with damage as Petree spun and kept going. Jamie Altop also got collected in that incident and would eventually fall out of the race.
That moved Lollis to the lead, a spot he would hold until the end. Petree rebounded to finish in second, with Porter in third, Garrett in fourth and Sorrow in fifth.
In other action, Colby Howard was flagged the winner of the Limited Late Model feature, but his car was found to have unapproved lifters in post race inspection, handing the win to Luke Sorrow. Blair Addis was moved to second, with Tasha Kummer in third, Taylor Sorrow in fourth and R.J. West in fifth.
Buck Simmons took the win in the Pure Stock feature, with Charlie Meinders in second, Spencer Morgan in third, Zack Meinders in fourth and A.J. Davis in fifth.
Dannon Esco was the winner in the Four Cylinder feature. Chad Redding, Tommy Davis, Manuel Molleda and Jack Hooper rounded out the top five.
Josh Sams led wire-to-wire for the Super Stock feature to take the win. Dale Stancil finished in second, with Travis Cox in third, T.J. Johnson in fourth and Stanley Pressley in fifth.
Bobby Emory was the winner in the Renegade feature, with Terry Thurston in second, Billy Brown in third, Parker Jameson in fourth and Alexx Breazele in fifth.
Greenville-Pickens Speedway returns to action on Saturday, June 11, with a pair of features for the Late Model Stocks, along with racing in the Four Cylinder, Renegade, Pure Stock and Super Stock divisions.
