Danny Dixon powered to the Super Pro victory in Saturday’s Summit ET event at Atlanta Dragway in Commerce, GA.
In the final, Dixon defeated Daulton Rogers in his ’00 Undercover dragster. Dixon ran a 5.946 ET on his 5.92 dial in at 116.84 mph with a reaction of 0.042. Rogers ran a 5.085 ET on his 5.10 dial in (break out) at 135.50 mph and a 0.031 reaction.
In other action, Will Spearman in his ’74 Duster scored his first Pro win over Jeremy Hancock, In his ’77 Vega in the final.
Spearman ran a 6.718 ET on his dial in of 6.73 (break out) at 10.51 mph, after Hancock fouled out with a -0.023 reaction. Hancock ran an 8.186 ET off his 5.75 dial in at 53.88 mph.
Russell Haskins took the Sportsman win in his ’13 Mustang defeated Randy Franklin in his ’79 Chevy Truck.
Haskins ran a 12.369 ET off his 12.32 dial in at 110.67 mph with a 0.022 reaction time. Franklin ran a (break out) 15.823 ET on his 15.91 dial in at 83.99 mph and a 0.120 reaction time.
In the Super Pro Bike final, David Fletcher on his ’84 Kawasaki defeated Jordan Autrey on a ’11 Kawasaki. Fletcher ran a 5.905 ET on his 5.80 dial in at 114.41 mph and a 0.027 reaction. Autrey ran a (break out) 5.895 ET off his 5.90 dial in at 120.01 mph and a great 0.005 reaction time.
In the Street ET Bike final, Jordan Autrey, on his ’11 Kawasaki, defeated Michael Mann on his ’06 Busa. Autrey ran a 9.329 ET on his 9.26 dial in at 144.21 mph and a reaction of 0.047. Mann ran a 9.619 ET on a 9.53 dial in at 139.86 mph and a 0.123 reaction.
Six-year-old Cooper Hancock defeated Malachi Edwards, age 6, in the 6-9 JR Dragster final. Hancock ran a 14.087 on his dial in of 13.90 at 45.68 mph and a reaction of 0.304 to Edwards 14.204 ET off a 14.22 dial in (break out) at 45.52 mph and a 0.088 reaction time.
In the 10-12 JR Dragster final, 9-year-old Shannon Blanton got her first win. In the finals, Blanton ran a 10.911 ET on her 10.94 dial in (break out run) at 62.93 mph and a 0.061 reaction time to defeat Kimberly Vancica, age 11, who tripped the red light at the starting line. Vancica ran a 90143ET on her dial in of 9.12 at 71.56 mph with a reaction of -0.212.
Adrian Wilson, age 15 defeated Chris Kittle, age 16, in the 13-17 JR Dragster final. Wilson ran a 7.989 ET on his 7.93 dial in at 81.94 mph with a reaction of 0.080. Kittle ran a 7.974 ET off his 7.93 dial at 81.63 mph with a reaction of 0.142.
Jackson Earwood in a ‘02 Ford Truck defeated Claude Thomason in a ’98 Pontiac in the Junior Street final. Earwood ran an 11.955 ET on his 11.68 dial in at 60.00 mph and a 0.103 reaction. Thomas ran an 11.008 on his dial in of 10.86 at 64.50 mph and a red light start of -0.160.
1320 DASH – Second ever 1320 dash at Atlanta Dragway/a dial in on a pro tree race.
In the 1320 Dash, Scott Reynolds in his ’02 Camaro defeated Dickey Forrest in his ’68 Camaro.
Reynolds ran a 13.255 ET on his 13.33 dial in (break out) at 105.77 mph with a 0.020 reaction time. Forrester ran a 11.733 ET off a 11.73 dial in (dead on) at 112.36 mph but he left the red light shining at the starting line with a -0.004 reaction.
