South, Roderick Split Montgomery Pro Late Model Races

Justin South and Casey Roderick both made trips to victory lane at Montgomery Motor Speedway Saturday night, as they split the twin Pro Late Model features at the Montgomery, Alabama raceway.

In the first 50 lap PLM feature, Christopher Tullis and Augie Grill brough the field to green, with Grill taking the early lead. Meanwhile, South steadily worked his way to the front, but saw his charge stopped temporarily for a caution on lap 12 when Dalton Grindle made contact with the turn one wall.

Back under green, Grill continued to lead until lap 28, when Tullis moved to the head of the field. Ten laps later, South moved to the front and on lap 39, took the lead.

From there, South went on to take the win, with Tullis in second, Bobby Knox, Jr. in third, Perry Patino in fourth and Chandler Smith in fifth.

In the second Pro Late Model feature, while several caution flags slowed the action, Casey Roderick and Bret Holmes battled for the lead. In the end, it was Roderick taking his second Late Model win of the weekend, as the Lawrenceville, Georgia racer scored the Southern Super Series Super Late Model victory the night before at Pensacola, Florida.

Bret Holmes finished in second, with Tullis in third, Perry Patino in fourth and Berry Bethea III in fifth.

In other action, Dave Mader III took the victory in the Late Model Sportsman feature, with Perry Patino in second, Roger Reuse in third, Justin Caton in fourth and Jason Furrow in fifth.

Charles Davis was the winner in the Street Stock feature. David Wood, Dwayne Wesenberg, Josh Wilson and Will Smith rounded out the top five.

In the Modified Mini feature, David Davis took the win, with Chase Spradlin in second, Rusty Alverson in third, Frankie Spradlin in fourth and Steve Looney in fifth.
