Cody Haskins got the 2016 season at Anderson Motor Speedway off to a strong start Friday night, as he scored the Late Model Stock victory at the Williamston, SC raceway.
The Marietta, GA racer led the field down to green, but lost the early lead to David Rogers. As the leaders completed lap one, a blown engine by Kenneth Headen and contact with the wall by Cole Glasson brought out the caution flag.
Once the race resumed, Haskins would drive his way to the lead, and then would move on to score the victory. Trey Gibson finished in second, with Marty Ward in third, Ralph Carnes in fourth and R.A. Brown in fifth.
In other action, Jason McDowell beat out Brandon Segars to score the BM Modified feature victory. Chuck Mitchell finished in third, with Will Ragsdale in fourth and Trevor Sanders in fifth.
Chad Campbell was the winner in the Mini Stock feature, with David Darnell in second, followed by Ryan Howard in third, Tyler Sease in fourth and Avery Burgess in fifth.
Justin Ashley took the victory in the Legends feature, with Eddie Fatscher, Lee Jordan, Ashton Higgins and Jacob Heafner rounding out the top five.
In the Renegades feature, Chris Whitfield topped the field to take the victory. Billy Brown came home in second, with Shane Brown third, Tony Leslie fourth and Tommy Stokes fifth.
Scott Parker scored the win in the Front Wheel Drive feature, with Chad Redding finishing in second, Robert Hall in third, Tommy Davis in fourth and James Coggins in fifth.
Anderson Motor Speedway returns to action on Friday, March 25, featuring the Southeast Limited Late Model Series along with racing from the BM Modifieds, Legends, Mini Stocks, Renegades and Front Wheel Drives.
