Scott Bloomquist rolled to his first-career Old Man’s Garage Spring Nationals Series victory while also becoming the 17th different tour winner on Saturday Night during the Tennessee Tipoff at the Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, TN.
Bloomquist, of Mooresburg, Tennessee, and pole-sitter Randy Weaver swapped the lead multiple times during the mid-race point of the 75-lapper with Bloomquist going on to win the $15,000 first place prize.
Three caution flags slowed the event. The first came on lap 38, while the second flew on lap 58 when Tommy Kerr stopped in turn four. The final yellow flag flew when Robby Moses slowed on the front-chute with a right-front flat tire.
Weaver held on to finish in second, with Mike Marlar in third, Darrell Lanigan in fourth and Dale McDowell in fifth.
Jimmy Owens, Don O’Neal, Jared Landers, Donald McIntosh and Earl Pearson, Jr. rounded out the top 10.
The next event for the Old Man’s Garage Spring Nationals Series is slated for Friday, March 25 and Saturday March 26, at Senoia Raceway in Senoia, GA.
