NeSmith Racing Chosen To Officiate Ice Bowl At TST

Talladega Short Track officials have announced they have chosen NeSmith Racing to officiate the 25th Annual Ice Bowl at the Eastaboga, AL 1/3-mile clay oval on January 7-10, 2016. The 25th Annual Ice Bowl will feature six different racing divisions in action during the four-day event.

Three Late Model racing divisions will be included in the 25th Annual Ice Bowl Line-Up with the Super Late Models in a $6,000-to-win main event, a $3,000-to-win main event for the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series (Crate Engines), and the Sportsmen (Limited Late Models) paying $2,500-to-win in their main event.

Also competing the 25th Annual Ice Bowl at Talladega Short Track will be the NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division paying $2,500-to-win in their main event, the Thundercars (Bombers) with a $1,200-to-win main event, and the Hot Shots paying a $500-to-win main event.

NeSmith Racing will be providing Talladega Short Track administrative, competition, technical, track prep, and public relations assistance for the 25th Annual Ice Bowl on January 7-10, 2016. NeSmith Racing will bring in Johnny Stokes from Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS to prepare the racing surface at Talladega Short Track for the 2016 Ice Bowl.

“Every time NeSmith Racing has been to Talladega Short Track, they have done a great job at running their part of the show and with the Ice Bowl being a big event, we couldn’t think of any group better to help us put this show on,” Talladega Short Track Owner/Promoter Lynn Phillips said. “I know we need good race direction, technical inspections and public relations support for an event of this size, and NeSmith Racing is the best there is in these areas of motorsports.”

The 25th Annual Ice Bowl on track activities will begin on Thursday, January 7, 2016 with a practice day. Another practice day will take place on Friday, January 8, 2016 and the Hot Shots will begin their preliminary events.

On Saturday, January 9, 2016, qualifying and heat races will be held for all divisions. The Hot Shots will then run their Consolation Race (if needed) and their Main Event. The weekend will wrap up with the rest of the Ice Bowl features on Sunday, January 10, 2016

Talladega Short Track and NeSmith Racing have worked closely together since 2006 through weekly sanctioning of the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series National Tour and the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Late Models. Since 2013 Talladega Short Track has sanctioned with the weekly NeSmith Performance Parts Street Stock Division and the Chevrolet Performance Super Late Model Series National Tour.
