Austin Horton dominated Saturday night’s Limited Late Model race at Senoia Raceway in Senoia, GA, leading flag-to-flag to score the win at the 3/8 mile dirt track.
Horton stayed in front of all the carnage as the race was slowed nine times for various accidents and spins. Dana Eiland climbed to second after a battle with Dalton Cook. The duo was joined during the middle stages of the race by Joey Armistead, Matt Dooley and Pete Cochran.
Each time the cautions would bunch the field for restarts, the crew of drivers would dart and dash from the top to the bottom of the track trying to find the advantage. Horton was the first under the checkered flag, pocketing the $1000 first place prize. He was followed by Eiland in second, Cook in third, Dooley in fourth and Armistead in fifth.
Twenty-three cars lined up for the B Cadet feature, but none of the challengers had anything for the pole sitter Blant Duke. The veteran driver never missed a beat, leading every lap to nab his seventh win of the year in the division. Parrish Duncan finished in second, with Glenn Morris in third, Roger Arnett in fourth and Marc Gooden in fifth.
Jamie Simmons out ran Franklin’s Chris Steele to win the Hobby Stock main event. Mike Archer, Ben Steele and Andrew Moody rounded out the top five.
J.J. Garrett beat Jamie Cross to capture the win in a highly competitive Mini Stock feature. Shane Strickland was third ahead of Craig Sanders in fourth and Jeremy Griffith in fifth.
Racing continues on Saturday, Oct. 17, as Senoia Raceway celebrates fall with a bonus racing event featuring the Super Late Models, Limited Late Models, Crate Late Models, B Cadets, Hobby Stock, Mini Stock and Bombers.
