Trey Gibson finished second in the season ending Late Model Stock feature Friday night at Anderson Motor Speedway in Williamston, SC, but he took home the biggest piece of hardware for his efforts.
While R.A. Brown scored the victory, Gibson’s runner-up finish gave the Easley, SC native the Late Model Stock championship for the 2015 season.
Gibson rode four LMS victories on the season to the championship, as he edged out Brown for the title.
For Brown, Friday night’s victory was his sixth of the season, more than any other driver in the division on the year.
Following Brown and Gibson across the finish line was Marietta, GA’s Kason Plott in third, with Cody Haskins, also of Marietta, GA, in fourth and former track champion Ralph Carnes in fifth.
Rodney Howard, Marty Ward, Justin Fontaine, Tim Edwards and David Roberts rounded out the top ten.
In other action, Chad Campbell scored his fifth Mini Stock feature victory of the season, wrapping up the division championship in the process. David Darnell finished in second, with Shon Gibson in third, B.J. Thrasher in fourth and Bobby Brock in fifth.
In the Renegade feature, Billy Brown held off the field to score his third division win of the season. Chris Whitfield finished in second, giving him the Renegade championship, with Shawn Campbell in third, Mike Childers in fourth and Jonathan Ragsdale in fifth.
Nick Netchaeff scored his second Super Stock feature win of the season. Eric Stokes finished in third, with Michael Mote finishing in third, tying up the division championship. Pendergrass, GA’s David Murphy finished in fourth, followed by Jeff Chadwick in fifth.
Austin Northcutt picked up the BM Modifieds victory, wrapping up the division championship in the process. Jason McDowell, Mitchell Stone, Trevor Sanders and Nick Fuller rounded out the top five.
In the US Legends feature, Justin Bolton scored the victory, with Rex Brown in second, Eddie Fatscher in third, Josh Brimecombe in fourth and Alex Pacheco in fifth. Justin Ashley was the 2015 division champion
Micheal Posey was the winner in the Front Wheel Drive feature, with 2015 division champ Scott Parker finishing in second. Don Tavernia came home in third, with Robert Hall in fourth and Casey Burkett in fifth.
While the regular 2015 season has come to an end, Anderson Motor Speedway still has one big event on its calendar, as the raceway will play host to the US Legends Car Nationals on Nov. 11-14.
