Todd Gilliland initially thought he had finished second in Saturday night’s Late Model Stock feature at Greenville-Pickens Speedway.

But after the apparent winner came up light in post race tech and declined engine inspection, Gilliland inherited the win, becoming the youngest driver to win a Late Model Stock feature at the historic Easley, SC raceway at 15 years of age.

Gilliland, the son of NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver David Gilliland, ran second much of the night, crossing the finish line in second. During the race, a caution came out for a 58-pound chunk of lead from a car left in the middle of the first turn.

At the end of the race, the apparent winner’s car came up 58 pounds light. When the car’s owner declined to participate in engine inepsction, the win was handed to Gilliland.

Gilliland replaces Trey Gibson as the youngest Late Model Stock driver in Greenville-Pickens Speedway history.

David Roberts finished in second, with Jeremy Burns in third, Cody Haskins in fourth and Brandon Fox in fifth.

Ryan Walker, Jasper, GA’s Emilee Riley, Dylan Hall, Kason Plott and Dale Dove rounded out the top ten.

The Renegade feature also had an unexpected ending, as the car that took the checkered flag failed post-race tech, giving Parker Jameson the win. Shane Hill finished in second, with Brad Burns third, Alexx Brazeale fourth and Bobby Emory fifth.

In other action, Tim Sams took his 12th Super Renegade feature win of the season, with Joe Satterfield in second, Josh Sams in third, Phillip Peters in fourth and Danny Gilbert in fifth.

Jason McGrew collected his seventh victory of the year in Pure/Street Stock feature, with Michael Mote, Chris Harvell, Michael Webster and Freddy Hale, Jr. rounding out the top five.

In the Four Cylinder feature, Travis Shelton grabbed the victory with Michael Cross in second, Danny Esco in third, Chad Tavernia in fourth and Don Tavernia in fifth.
