Steve “Hot Rod” LaMance powered to a $2000 payday in the Inaugural Stephen Wragg Memorial race for the FASTRAK Racing Series in front of a packed house Saturday night at the historic Toccoa Raceway in Toccoa, GA.

The inaugural FASTRAK Grand Nationals champion from Six Mile, SC simply had it all go his way from the time his car hit the track to the checkers fell on the high banked 5/16 clay speedway.

Dennis Franklin and LaMance battled side by side for the opening lap, with LaMance moving away into the lead. Franklin would try to close in on the leader as the race approached the mid-way point only to see disaster strike.

It occurred on lap 13 when Jim Madden plowed hard into the outside wall off turn two. Franklin was left with no where to go, colliding hard into the driver side of Madden’s damaged car. The damage to Franklin’s car was enough to send him to the pits.

When the race got back underway, Cla Knight charged hard on the outside and closed in on LaMance, but there was no catching the leader. LaMance went on to score the victory, with Knigh tin second, Frankie Beard in third, David McCoy in fourth and David Smith in fifth.

Other winners on the night included David McCoy in Limited Late Models, Brandon Stroud in Hobby 602, Daniel Snow in Modified Streets, Harley Holden in Stock 4s, Matthew Furgerson in Rookie 4 Cylinders and Jackie Holden in Front Wheel Drives.
