After rain outs claimed much of the opening portion of the 2015 United Sprint Car Series Outlaw Thunder Tour racing schedule, Benton, AR sprint car veteran racer Tim Crawley proved once again that he is a force to be reckoned with in a winged sprint car Friday night.

After starting third in the USCS “Fast Friday” 30-lap main event, Crawley charged past Derek Hagar on lap seven, then raced his way into USCS victory lane at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbia, MS. It marked his first win of the 2015 season, and his 72nd career USCS win.

Hagar chased Crawley for 15 or so laps before battling back into contention in heavy lapped traffic in the final laps. He passed Crawley back once in the middle of lap 28 before yielding the point and the victory and settling for the runner-up spot.

Anthony Nicholson rounded out the podium in third place, followed by Terry Gray in fourth and Morgan Turpen in fifth.

Marshall Skinner, Lee Moore, Taylor Tidmore, Jerod Roller and Curt Terrell rounded out the top ten.

Nick Snyder was running fourth in the feature when he lost a motor on lap 12 to bring out the first yellow flag of the night. The only other caution of the race flew on lap 16 when Buster Dickerson spun his machine to slow the pace for the final time.

Hagar kicked off the night’s racing action by taking the win in the six-lap Hoosier Speed Dash. Snyder rolled to the win in the first heat, and Crawley claimed the second heat. Hagar stole the preliminary portion of the show to take the checkers in the third heat. He also claimed the K&N Filters Pole Award after a zero was rolled on the inversion.
