Jamie Perry took the early lead, and powered away to score the Limited Late Model feature victory Saturday night at Boyd’s Speedway in Ringgold, GA.
Ryan Gifford and Perry brought the field to the green, with Perry moving to the lead by using the outside line. Gifford settled into the second spot, while Ronnie Johnson used the high line to move into third. Gifford began to slowly chip away at the lead Perry had built up by using the low line until Jerry Coffman slowed in turn three while running fourth with apparent mechanical problems.
Perry continued to dominate the feature on the top side, leading flag-to-flag to capture the victory. Gifford would run second with Johnson third. Todd Hernandez finished fourth with Robby Mason in fifth.
In other action, Jeff Smith and Craig Burrows brought the 22 car field to the green in the Crate Late Model feature. The event was plagued with cautions in the early laps, including a four car pileup in turn four on lap four, and a four car incident in turns one and two on lap seven.
Up front, Smith controlled the pace, pulling away from the field on every restart. Burrows and Bryan Pritchard fought furiously for the runner-up spot while Justin Owens and Larry Higgins fought off multiple challenges for their top five spots. With ten laps remaining, Pritchard was able to slip by Burrows to take second for the first time in the evening.
The final caution would wave on with four to go to bunch the field for one final restart. Again, Smith would pull away to claim the victory. Burrows made a final lap pass on Pritchard to take second, with Pritchard holding on fir third, Owens in fourth and Larry Higgins in fifth.
In B-Hobby action, Ricky Wagner jumped out to the early advantage, leaving Michael Brooks to fight Jason Tate for the runner-up spot, with Brooks eventually taking the spot. After a quick yellow bunched the field up, Wagner and Brooks battled for the lead, with Brooks slipping past Wagner and going on to score the win. Wagner finished in the second position, while Tate held on to third. David Vickers finished fourth with Ronnie Kerr in fifth.
In the A-Hobby feature, Booger Brooks and Jake Caldwell brought the field to the green flag. Brooks quickly jumped out to the early lead, but a crash halted action at the start finish line after contact damaged the machines of B.J. Wilson and Jacob Stewart. Wilson was able to continue, but Stewart’s night would be cut short.
On the restart, Brooks would again jump out to the lead. Allen Jolly, who started seventh, began powering through the field using the low line around the speedway. Jolly worked his way up to third, while Jimmy Smith worked to chase down Brooks. Smith’s night came to an end with a spin in turn two.
Jolly inherited the second spot for the restart, but was unable to chase down Brooks, as he drove away to capture the win. Jolly settled for second spot, while Wilson patiently worked his way back up to finish third. Beagan finished fourth, with Jeff Allen in fifth.
Terry Gant and Patrick Henry brought the Pony Car field to the green. Gant would jump out to the early lead with Chris Rogers in tow. E.J. Bailey would quickly tear through the field, working up the inside to third, with Bruce Kimber settling in fourth. Bailey didn’t stay in third long, as he moved his way around Gant and Rogers to take the top spot, with Kimber in tow.
Kimber and Bailey began a battle for the lead, with Kimber taking the top spot. Kimber went on to score the victory, with Bailey in second, Rogers in third, Gant in fourth and Shaun Tenpenny in fifth.
