It may have been the regular season opener at Lavonia Speedway in Lavonia, GA Friday night, but David McCoy made it look like old times.

The Franklin, NC speedster has been a dominant force on the short tracks in North Georgia over the past few years, and he added to his win tally by two by sweeping both the FASTRAK Pro Late Model feature and the Limited Late Model feature around the 3/8 mile clay speedway.

In the FASTRAK Pro Late Model feature, McCoy outdistanced Frankie Beard to score the win. Steve “Hot Rod” LaMance finished in third, followed by Rusty Jordan in fourth and Drew Benfield in fifth.

In the Limited Late Model race, McCoy held off Ashley Poole for the win, with Mike Ashley in third and Clayton Turner in fourth.

In other action, Chris Capes topped the Modified Street field to score the feature victory. Mark Wilbanks finished in second, with Michael Segars in third, Jason Lewallen in fourth and Louis Tetreault in fifth.

In the Hobby 602 feature, Chris McKeehan held off Rod Roberts for the win. Ty Anglin finished third, with Matthew Bryant in fourth and Stanly Hill in fifth.

Joey Kelly was the winner in the Stock 8 feature. Cal Moon crossed the finish line in second, with Rocky Jones third, Terry Brown fourth and Eric Dove fifth.

Kenny Dobbs topped the field for the Stock 4 feature win. Kevin Kelley, J.J. Garrett, Curtis Capes and Ryan Bowles rounded out the top five.

Matthew Furgerson was the winner in the Rookie 4 feature, with Nathan Bowen in second and Matt Johnson in third.

Josh Wells scored the win in the Front Wheel Drive feature. T.J. Watts finished in second, followed by Jackie Holden in third, Lucas Crowe in fourth and Daniel Reynolds in fifth.
