JEFFERSON, GA – Kyle Grissom pulled it out at the last minute.

Grissom, son of former NASCAR Sprint Cup driver Steve Grissom, was the last driver to take time in qualifying for the 31st annual World Crown 300 at Gresham Motorsports Park in Jefferson, GA.

On his first lap of record, Grissom knocked Southern Super Series points leader Bubba Pollard off the top of the scoring pylon to score the pole position for the asphalt Super Late Model classic.

Grissom’s turned in a lap at 16.894 seconds, 106.547 MPH, while Pollard’s lap at 16.926 seconds, 106.345 mph, was good enough to keep him on the outside of the front row.

Alabama’s Augie Grill was third fastest (16.961 seconds, 106.126 MPH), with Suwanee’ GA’s Anderson Bowen fourth (16.963 seconds, 106.113 MPH) and Scotty Ellis in fifth (16.964 seconds, 16.107 MPH).

Preston Peltier, Brian Hoar, Stephen Nasse, Daniel Hemric and Spencer Davis rounded out the top five.
