The late arriving shower forced Senoia Raceway in Senoia, GA to postpone the Newnan Bonding B Cadet 30-lap special and the main event for the Jodeco Auto Sales Late Models to this Saturday, July 27. This creates a night of double features for these divisions, heats and features for the classes that were able to complete racing and the 3rd annual Waterless Boat Race all on the same event ticket.

Some of the races were completed Saturday night. Roopville’s Clifton ‘Hog Head’ Moran held off Tyrone’s Jamie Simmons for this 51st career victory in the Summit Racing Equipment Hobby Stocks. Simmons worked the veteran Moran for the entire length of the 20-lap feature, but could not overtake the track’s winningest driver. Franklin’s Gary Brand was third.

Barnesville’s Gary Parker used a late race restart in the Mini Stocks to shoot past rookie driver Alex Rudolph of Griffin. Rudolph looked to be on his way to a career first win when a caution bunched the field. Parker used his experience to steal away the lead and then cruised to his second checkered flag of the season. Points leader Bobby ‘Wild Child’ Arnold of Newnan finished second ahead of Newnan’s Brandon Libir, Rudolph and Bo Chambers of Griffin.

Villa Rica’s Todd Brewster led every lap of the Modified Mini main to snare the win while Newnan’s Michael Nelms topped the rain-shortened Bomber feature.

Cataula’s Joseph Brown topped the Newnan Bonding B Cadet qualifying round. Brown bested Lafayette, Alabama’s Marc Gooden to secure the pole position for the 30-lap, $1000 to win feature. Nineteen cars will line-up this Saturday, July 27 for the postponed event.

Newnan’s Rucker Orr was the fastest qualifier for the Jodeco Auto Sales Late Models. Making his first appearance of the season, Orr was seven thousandths of a second quicker than current division points leader Glenn Morris of Fayetteville. The Jodeco Auto Sales Late Models will make up this week’s feature and run another for next Saturday’s points creating a twin 20 schedule for the high speed rockets.
