Clayton Turner did something rare in North Georgia dirt track racing this season: he beat out David McCoy for the win in one of two Limited Late Model features Friday night at Lavonia Speedway in Lavonia, GA.
Kenny Collins trailed the duo in third, with Keith Freeman in fourth, and Rodney Peters in fifth.
McCoy would score the win in the other Limited Late Model feature, with Turner coming across in second. Bubba Russell came home in third, with Freeman in fourth, and Darrin Hill in fifth.
In other action, Grant Jordan beat out McCoy for the victory in the FASTRAK Pro Late Model feature. Steve “Hot Rod” LaMance came across in third, with Vince Fanello in fourth, and Drew Cole in fifth.
Mark Wilbanks scored the victory in the Modified Street feature. Clifton Snow finished in second, with Paul Byrum in third, Chris Cape in fourth, and Dean Butler in fifth.
The Beginner 4 Cylinder division also ran two features. Jeremy Hicks picked up the win in one feature, with Mason Tucker coming across the finish line in second. Payton Freeman finished in third, with Whitney Sanders in fourth, and Daniel Reynolds in fifth.
Freeman was the winner in the second Beginner 4 Cylinder feature. Tucker, Reynolds, and Sanders rounded out the top four.
The Front Wheel Drives also ran double features. J.B. Moser swept both races. Robbie Cook finished second in the first feature, with Patch Anthony in third, Jackie Holden in fourth and Keith Hicks in fifth. The top five was the same for the other feature.
