Robbie Stillwaggon made the long trip from Burlington, NJ to Toccoa, GA Saturday night pay off, as he charged to the victory in the USCS 360 Sprint Car feature at Toccoa Speedway.

Stillwaggon moved around Eric Riggins, Jr. just before the halfway mark in the 30-lap feature, and would never be seriously challenged for the top spot again as he picked up the win.

In a night that saw Toccoa Speedway raising $750 for Autism Speaks, the USCS 360 Sprint Cars started with a four wide salute to the fans around the 5/16 track. Lance Moss jumped out to the early lead, with Riggins, Jr. in second and Stillwaggon in third.

Riggins, Jr. moved his way into the lead, with Stillwaggon giving chase in second and Derek Hagar in third. Over the next several laps, Stillwaggon would close on Riggins, Jr., and would begin looking for a way around the Charlotte, NC speedster.

As the race approached lap 13, Stillwaggon turned up the heat on Riggins, Jr., and would have the run for the lead when the caution came out on that same lap when Dalton Davis slowed to a stop on the backstretch.

On the restart, Riggins, Jr. and Stillwaggon went at it again, with Stillwaggon finally moving to the top spot with a pass on the backstretch, with Hagar trailing in third.

The caution flew again on lap 20 when four cars tangled in turn two. Hagar, Bob Auld, and Jay Dunham were among those involved.

Back under green, Moss was working his way back into contention, as he battled Riggins for second. Moss got the position, but Riggins slid back around him one lap later.

Up front, Stillwaggon moved away for the win. Riggins, Jr. finished second, with Moss in third, Morgan Turpen in fourth, and Terry Gray in fifth.

The USCS 600 Mini Sprints were also in action Saturday night. Winder, GA’s Mike Magic jumped out to the early lead, with Atlanta’s Matt McCullough moving to second and Coby Adams in third. The first caution of the feature occurred in turns three and four before the first lap was completed, involving Tyler Price, Shawn Fitzgerald, and Shane Nelson.

On the restart, it was again Magic moving to the lead, with McCullough and Adams giving chase. McCullough would not stay in second long, as he powered his way around Magic into the top spot.

The scariest moment of the night occurred on lap eight. It started with Sean Hosey, who slowed on the backstretch, dropping fluid as he went. When McCullough hit the oil he slid high in the turn, with Magic and Tyler Price becoming involved, with Price and Magic taking hard rides, including Price flipping on his lid. Magic was shaken up in the crash, but was uninjured, as were the other drivers. The crash led to a red flag condition to allow for track clean up.

Back under green, Adams moved to the lead, and would go on to score the victory. Bobby Zaiontz came home in second, with Bob Trapino in third, Shawn Nelson in fourth, and Cassie Klenke in fifth.

In other action, Clayton Calloway jumped out to the early lead in the Modified Street feature. But chaos broke out on the drop of the green as several cars tangled at the start-finish line, including Joe McClure, Steve Sellers, and Billy Buffington.

After a red flag to clean up the scene, Calloway again moved to the lead, with Darrell Ivester in second. Calloway would wash up the track in turn four, opening the door for Ivester to move to the lead. Over the closing laps, Crandall Turner would try time and again to get a run on Ivester. On the final lap, Turner can get as far as Ivester’s door, but can get no farther, as Ivester scores the win. Calloway finishes in third, with Buffington in fourth, and Terry Calhoun in fifth.

Things got crazy in the Hobby Stock feature before the green flag came out, as Brad Russell and Daniel Fowler tangled on the front stretch after the initial start was waved off. Several cars were gathered up, including Gerald Stanley. Russell and Fowler would have words on the front stretch, along with members of their crews, track officials and some of Toccoa’s finest. The red flag comes out to clean up the mess, but eventually, everybody calms down.

Another incident on the start kept the first lap from being completed, as Matt Gerrin spun in turn two after contact with Ray Hamilton. Both are able to continue.

When the race finally got underway, it was Phillip Wilson jumping out front, with Randy Dillard in second and Hamilton in third.

The red flag would come out again when Fowler tangles with Brent Russell in turn four, gathering up James Simpson as well. Race officials parked Fowler for the night.

With the track cleared, it was Wilson streaking to the victory, with Nick Sellers in second, Hamilton in third, Gerrin in fourth and Dillard, who spun out of third on the final lap, coming home in fifth.

In Stock 4 action, Kenny Dobbs would lead flag-to-flag to score the win in a feature that went caution free. Justin Lord finished second, with Brandon Stroud, Bobby Boshears, and Casey Riley rounding out the top five.

David McCoy jumped out to the early lead in the FASTRAK Late Model feature, with Hot Rod LaMance in second and Cla Knight in third. A three car tangle in turn two brought out the caution on lap two, as Knight, Drew Benefield, and Lance Finn went around. McCoy would go on to score the win, with LaMance in second, Knight in third, Finn in fourth, and Benefield in fifth.

McCoy would double up with a win in the Southeastern Late Model Sportsman feature, with Ethan Hunter in second, Kenny Collins in third, Randy Dillard in fourth, and Chris McKeehan in fifth.

Trouble broke out early in the 602 Sportsman feature, as Alex Yarbrough and Matt Duke tangled in turn two, but were able to continue. But Yarbrough would hit the wall in turn three, leaving Duke with nowhere to go.

George Reece, Sr. would go on to score the win, with John Howard in second, Nick Sellers in third, Cameron Collett in fourth, and Yarbrough in fifth.

Jackie Holden won in Front Wheel Drives, with Robbie Cook in second, and Rob Perez in third.
