Hayden, Alabama’s Augie Grill led just final 19 laps to claim Saturday’s return of the Florida Cracker 200 for Super Late Models at New Smyrna Speedway in New Smyrna Beach, FL.
The race also marked the season opener for the 2013 Bright House Challenge Series.
Travis Cope had led from the drop of the green flag and was in search of his second straight NSS win, but a controversial pass in turn one following a lap 181 restart relegated Cope to second.
Rich Clouser finished third, with Dawsonville, GA’s Spencer Davis fourth and Joe Winchell in fifth.
In other action, Chad Pierce topped the E-Modified field to win the 50-lap feature. Jarrett Korpi finised in second, with Chris Brannon in third, Mike Pletka in fourth, and John Hodge in fifth.
