Last year, Grant Enfinger led the most laps in the ARCA Mobile 200 at Mobile International Speedway in Irvington, AL, but came up short at the end.

This year, the Fairhope, AL native not only had the dominant car, but he also led the lap that mattered – the last one.

Enfinger powered out to a whopping lead on the final restart of the race with 10 laps to go, then motored away from 15-year old Kyle Benjamin, who turned in a second place finish in his ARCA Series debut.

“I’ve wanted to win for so long,” Enfinger said afterwards. “To do it in front of the home crowd is something special. A lot of these people, family and friends, can’t come up north when we race. This is something special.”

Enfinger flexed his muscles early, jumping out to the lead on the drop of the green flag and holding the top spot through three early caution flags.

Meanwhile, Benjamin worked his way from a fourth place start into early contention, as he trailed Enfinger in second.  Bowen also made his presence known, moving to third on lap 33.

The race was slowed several times by cautions, including one incident on lap 58 that caught up Spencer Gallagher, who had been running in the top five, and veteran racer James Hylton in the third turn.  Both cars were sidelined as a result, but neither driver was injured.

Under caution, leader Enfinger and top five contender Frank Kimmel took the opportunity to make their first pit stops of the day.  Kimmel would come off pit road first, but several other leaders had not pitted.

That moved Benjamin into the lead for the first time on the day, with Bowen in second and Mason Mingus in third.

Those three would hold the top spots for the next seven laps until another caution flew, sending the remaining leaders to the pits and moving Kimmel into the top spot.

Kimmel would keep the lead until lap 79, when Enfinger made the move around to retake the lead.  Kimmel would settle into second, with Mason Mitchell in third.

At the halfway point, Enfinger held the lead, followed by Kimmel, Benjamin, Justin Boston and Mitchell.

The caution would fly again on lap 103, when Bo Lemastus crashed in turn three.  His car was waded up, but he was uninjured.

On the restart, Enfinger would continue to pace the field, with Kimmel and Benjamin giving chase.  Benjamin would power his way around Kimmel to take second just before another caution came out, this time for a spin in turn four by Roger Carter.

Benjamin began working on Enfinger for the top spot over the 30 laps, but could not put the run together.  He finally got the job done on lap 158, moving out front as the leaders worked through lap traffic.

The caution flew again on lap 159 when Robert Bujdoso spun coming off turn four.    Benjamin would win the race off pit road, and would line up second on the restart behind the #02 who did not pit, with Enfinger in third.

The caution would come out again one lap after green, when James Swanson and Thomas Prater tangled in turn four.  With several cars heading for the pits, Benjamin and Enfinger held the top two spots.

On the restart, Enfinger switched on the afterburners and moved back into the lead, with Benjamin holding on to second and Mingus to third.

The final caution flew on lap 186 when contact between Kimmel and front runner Taylor Ferns sent Ferns spinning off of turn two.  That set up the final restart, with Enfinger scoring the victory.  Benjamin would finish second, with Bowen nipping Mingus in the closing laps for third.  Kimmel came home in fifth.
