Tim McCreadie, Darrell Lanigan and Billy Moyer waged an epic DIRTcar Late Model battle Wednesday night at the UNOH DIRTcar Nationals Presented by Summit Racing Equipment at Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, FL.

McCreadie and Lanigan swapped the lead twice in the 40-lapper before McCreadie slid in front on a lap 29 restart, leaving Lanigan and Moyer to chase him down. Coming off the final corner at the half-mile oval, Lanigan went to the top, McCreadie to the bottom and Moyer split the two down the middle.

McCreadie slid up just enough to pinch Moyer and carried the momentum to edge Lanigan by .062 seconds as the three took the checkered flag.

“I had about a 15-lap run,” McCreadie said. “Darrell was better after a long run, and the caution just happened to fall lucky for me. They packed those crumbs and I was able to sail it in there and run the top for a few laps, and then I did everything I could to hold Darrell and Billy off at the end. It was just our night. Everything fell our way.”

In Super DIRTcar Series action, Danny Johnson powered his Big-Block Modified to victory at Volusia for the second consecutive year and the 13th time in his career. After battling defending series champion Matt Sheppard for much of the feature, Johnson had to hold off seven-time series champion Brett Hearn after Sheppard spun when he ran out of tear-offs on his helmet visor. Johnson got a strong run in the high groove on the restart and pulled away from Hearn for the win.

On Thursday, the World of Outlaws Late Model Series invades Volusia Speedway Park for the final three nights of the UNOH DIRTcar Nationals Presented by Summit Racing Equipment. Gates open at 5 pm with warm-ups at 6 pm and racing at 7:30 pm.
