Turner Scott Motorsports (TSM) announced today that Super Late Model standout Kenzie Ruston and Turner Scott Motorsports will team up and compete full time in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East (NKNPSE) in 2013. TSM, which currently houses NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) teams, will be expanding their operation into the NKNPSE ranks with five entries with two entries running a partial schedule.
Ruston, originally from El Reno, OK, got her start in racing at the 0.2-mile Lil’ Texas Motor Speedway in the Bandolero division. After two successful seasons, Ruston moved up to the Legends cars in 2009, winning seven championships in her first season and becoming the first female to win an asphalt national championship.
In 2010, Ruston moved up to compete in Super Late Models, recording multiple top-10 finishes. In 2011, Ruston had a breakout season, becoming the first female to lead laps and finish in the top-10 in her first Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA) race. In her four ARCA starts, Ruston had two top-10 finishes. Ruston also competed in the ARCA/CRA Super Series and claimed victory at Lucas Oil Raceway Park in Indianapolis, becoming the first female to win an ARCA/CRA event.
This past racing season, Ruston competed full time in ARCA/CRA and added to her list of many “firsts.” In the 19 events she competed in, Ruston scored six top-five and 12 top-10 ten finishes.
