The entries continue to pour in for SpeedFest 2013, to be held later this month at Watermelon Capital Speedway in Cordele, GA.

Among those set to compete for top honors at “The Melon” Jan. 26-27 are a trio of second generation racers, led by 2011 SpeedFest winner Chase Elliott.  Elliott scored the win last year in the 100 lap Pro Late Model preliminary event, a race he has won two years running.  2012 was a banner year in Late Models for the Dawsonville, GA driver.

Elliott, the son of NASCAR Sprint Cup champion Bill Elliott, won the World Crown 300 at Gresham Motorsports Park, along with a brace of SLM wins at the Jefferson, GA speed plant.

John Hunter Nemechek, son of NASCAR Sprint Cup driver Joe Nemechek, is also slated to compete, as is NASCAR Sprint Cup driver David Ragan, himself the son of Georgia Racing Hall of Fame member Ken Ragan.
