Last Saturday’s Show Me the Money 100 race at Montgomery Motor Speedway in Montgomery AL was called due to rain. Track officials tried everything possible Saturday night to get the Show Me the Money 100 feature in. Unfortunately, in the end, it was Mother Nature who took the checkers forcing officials to cancel the race.
The forecast for Sunday, August 19 looked to be even worse than that of Saturday night. Officials, after inquiring with the teams, decided not to use Sunday as the make-up date for the event. Many teams expressed concerns of the added costs of staying an additional night, paying crew members, etc. with the high probability of another rain-out.
With the lack of open dates left towards the end of the racing season, Montgomery Motor Speedway officials have announced the fifth installment of the Show Me the Money Series, which was rained out on August 18, will NOT be rescheduled.
The Alabama 200, scheduled for September 15-16 will be the final points race of 2012 for the Show Me the Money Series. All 17 Pro Late Model teams who were entered for August 18’s 100 lap race will have their entry fees for that race honored at the Alabama 200 in September.
Entry forms are available now for the 200-lap race, scheduled for September 15-16, 2012. The qualifying order will be the reverse order of entry, so teams are encouraged to print the entry forms off of the track’s website at www.MontgomerySpeedway.com and mail them in as soon as possible. Teams who were entered for the August 18 will not be required to send in a payment for entry to the Alabama 200, as their entry fee from August 18 will apply to their Alabama 200 entry, but they will need to mail in their entry forms as soon as possible.
The local Street Stock division will qualify and have Twin 20-lap features on September 1, which will end their championship season. Each of the Twin races will pay full points. The Street Stock division finale, the “FourStar Freightliner Street Stock 100” will be a non-points event.
