Wild and exciting winged outlaw style sprint car racing will headline the two-day USCS Senoia Summer Nationals III (2012) racing program at Senoia Raceway in Senoia, GA  this (Friday) evening and Saturday night, August 17 and 18.  Drivers from nine states are expected to pilot their machines around the 3/8ths mile speed plant.  The winged sprint cars will reach speeds in excess of 110 miles per hour.

The United Sprint Car Series presented by Goodyear “Outlaw Thunder” Tour roars into the high-banked 3/8-mile red clay oval for the 3rd Annual “USCS Senoia Summer Nationals”.  This event is race number twenty-two and twenty-three on the 16th Anniversary schedule for the nationally touring USCS drivers.  This is the one and only visit scheduled for the 2012 season to Senoia Raceway. These races will award National points as well as USCS Southern Thunder Tour regional series standings.

The USCS Southern Thunder regional series consists of races in Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Eastern Tennessee and both Carolinas. The two-night special event is expected to bring top winged outlaw sprint car drivers from those states, as well as, Mississippi, Pennsylvania, Ohio and New York to compete.

Winged Sprint Cars are alcohol burning, 700 horsepower open wheel cars that weigh just 1,300 pounds.  Pound for pound they are the world’s most powerful short track race cars. The cars will literally fly around the track surface at speeds over 110 M.P.H.   It is not uncommon to see USCS sprint cars popping “wheelies” or doing wheel stands because of the brute force of their engines and their huge 18-inch wide rear tires.

Friday and Saturday night’s sprint car action will feature a full program of racing in the outlaw sprint cars that includes test and tune hot laps followed by the Goodyear Speed Dash that showcases the top six cars from the previous USCS main event.  The winged warriors will also run qualifying heat races and a Last Chance/B-Main race.  Each evening’s finale will be the USCS Sprint Car A-main event.
