Anthony Nicholson from Bartlett, TN charged from his K&N Filters Pole Position into USCS victory lane on Friday night at Batesville Motor Speedway in Batesville, AR, for his second career and first feature win of the season.
Nicholson held off series point’s leader Tim Crawley from Benton, AR over the final three laps to secure the win after leading every lap around the high-banked clay oval. Veteran sprint car driver Jeff Swindell followed Crawley in third place. Jarod Roller, from Olive Branch, Mississippi followed in fourth place and defending series championTerry Gray rallied back to fifth place after a lap fifteen stop to change a flat tire.
Three-time 2012 feature winner Derek Hagar from Marion, AR led the rest of the field in sixth place followed by the only female driver in the field, Morgan Turpen from Oakland, TN, in seventh place. Mike Pack from Batesville, Arkansas followed her in eighth place. Eric Riggins, Jr. from Charlotte, North Carolina finished ninth and Greg Merritt from Nesbit, Mississippi rounded out the top ten.
Tim Crawley kicked off the evening’s action by winning the Goodyear Speed Dash. Terry Gray won the Engler Machine and Tool First Heat and Jeff Swindell won the Butlerbuilt Second Heat. Tim Crawley garnered the evening’s Wildwood Disc Brakes Hard Charger award by passing the most cars in the A-Main.
