The ninth installment of Raceweek Illustrated Garage Talk, which first aired June 2, 2012, features a review of the Indy 500 and Coca-Cola 600, a preview of the upcoming Slack Auto Parts 150 at Gresham Motorsports Park, a look at the announcement for the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame Class of 2012, plus a review of local racing action.
In the first segment, host Brandon Reed and co-host Doug Turnbull review the recent Indianapolis 500 and Coca-Cola 600, along with a review of Late Model action from 5 Flags Speedway in Pensacola, FL, and Mobile International Speedway in Mobile, AL. We’re then joined by Gresham Motorsports Park general manager Dan Elliott for a preview of the upcoming NASCAR K&N East Series event at the Jefferson, GA track.
In the second segment, we travel to the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame in Dawsonville, GA, for the announcement of the 2012 class of inductees into the hall. They include 1970 Daytona 500 champ Pete Hamilton, Georgia dirt track legend Bill Ingram, all-time NHRA Pro Stock winner Warren Johnson, National Dirt Hall of Fame member Doug Kenimer, and sprint car ace Herman Wise.
In the third segment, Senoia Raceway in Senoia, GA, CARS Pro Cup action from Ace Speedway in Altamahaw, NC, Hartwell Speedway in Hartwell, GA, Greenville-Pickens Speedway in Greenville, SC, East Bay Raceway Park in Tampa, FL, and Atlanta Dragway in Commerce, GA. We’re then joined again by Dan Elliott for a further look at the upcoming NASCAR event at Gresham Motorsports Park
