Open wheel racers took center stage Monday night at New Smyrna Speedway in New Smyrna Beach, FL, as the World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing rolled on.

And, just as we’ve seen several times at New Smyrna, race fans were treated to another first time winner, as Daniel Hemric scored the victory in the NASCAR Tour-Type Modified feature.

For Hemric, it marked his first victory in a Tour-Type feature event.  He beat out Eric Goodale for the win.  Patrick Emmerling finished third, with Chuck Hossfield fourth and John Jenson in fifth.

Sharing the track with Tour-Types during the feature were the SK Modifieds.  Rob Shultz came away with the win.  Dave Cramner finished second, with Jeremy Gastner third, Jimmy Zacharias fourth and John Wilbur fifth.

In the TBARA Wing Sprint Car feature, Troy DeCaire came away with the victory.  Mickey Kempgens, Jason Cox, John Gilbert, Jr., and Shane Butler rounded out the top five.

Action continues on the New Smyrna half mile tonight (Tuesday), with the SK Modifieds, Super Late Models, NASCAR Tour-Type Modifieds, Pro Late Models, and FL/IMCA Type Modifieds.
