The Georgia Racing Hall of Fame in Dawsonville, GA will host the Annual NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series Awards Banquet on Saturday night, January 21. The Top 10 drivers in the NeSmith Chevrolet DLMS Tour and in the NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series East and West Regions will be honored.
In addition to the Top 10 Awards, other special awards will be announced that include the VP Racing Fuels Rookie of the Year Award, the Hedman Husler of the Year Award, the Ironman Award, and the GM Performance Parts Bob Cross Memorial Lifetime Achievement Award.
Among the leading honorees are the 2011 NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series Touring Champion Dan Breuer of Troutman, NC, the VP Racing Fuels Rookie of the Year Chase Edge of Lafayette, AL, as well as NeSmith Chevrolet Weekly Racing Series Champions Jimmy Elkins Jr. of Talladega, AL in the Old Man’s Garage East Region and Jim McDuffie of Meridian, MS in the West Region.
Dawsonville’s own Matthew Turner will receive his fourth Ironman Award to commemorate his 124th consecutive series appearances. Turner is the only driver to participate in every Touring event the NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series has held since its inception in 2005.
Other presentations include the 2011 Highlight Video and the State of the Series Address by NeSmith Chevrolet Dirt Late Model Series Founder and Director Mike Vaughn.
