Cool Temperatures, Hot Racing Set For This Weekend

As the temperatures get cooler, the action on the race track gets hotter, as several series and tracks look to wrap up their season, while others are seeing their championship points chases shape up.

Here’s a look at some of the racing action on tap for this weekend.

Boyd’s Speedway in Ringgold, Georgia hosts the SRRS Super Late Models on Friday, Oct. 14, with $3,000 to win, plus Crate Late Models, A&B Hobby and Front Wheel Drive.  For more info, visit www.boydsspeedway.net.

-The CRA Super Series will be at Winchester Speedway in Winchester, Indiana for the 40th Annual Winchester 400 on October 14-16.  For more information, visit www.craracing.net.

-The PASS North Series will travel to Oxford Plains Speedway in Oxford, ME For Champions Day on Oct. 15.  Visit www.proallstarsseries.com for more info.

South Alabama Speedway in Opp, Alabama hosts the Alabama Pro 200 on Oct. 14-15, featuring Mini-Sportsman, Coyote, Road Runner and Street Stock classes on Saturday, with Legends, Modifiends and the Alabama Pro 200 running on Saturday.  For more info, visit www.southalabamaspeedway.com.

Toccoa Speedway in Toccoa, Georgia returns to action Saturday, Oct. 15, featuring Limited Late Models, FASTRAK Crate Late Models, Hobby, Modified Street, Street Stock 4 Cyl, Stock V8 and Front Wheel Drives.

-The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series travels to Charlotte Motor Speedway for the Bank of America 500 on Saturday, Oct. 15.  The NASCAR Nationwide Series is also at Charlotte, as they run the Dollar General 300 Miles of Courage tonight (Friday), Oct. 14.  The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series competes in the Smith’s 350 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Saturday, Oct. 15.  The NASCAR K&N Pro Series West travels to All American Speedway in Roseville, CA for the Toyota/NAPA Auto Parts 150 on Saturday, Oct. 15.  The NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour heads to Thompson International Speedway in Thompson, CT for their season finale, the Sunoco World Series of Speedway Racing on Sunday, Oct. 16.  For more information, visit www.nascar.com.
