Max Gresham announced Tuesday that he will compete in a trio of NASCAR Camping World Truck Series events this season for Turn One Racing.

Gresham, the leader of the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East championship chase heading into the final race of the season at Dover International Speedway this Friday, will make his series debut in a Chevrolet Silverado for Turn One Racing in the Smith’s 350 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Saturday, October 15.

Gresham will also compete in the Kroger 200 for Turn One at Martinsville (VA) Speedway on Saturday, October 29 and in the Ford 200 at Homestead-Miami (FL) Speedway Friday, November 18.

“I’m extremely excited to go to Turn One Racing and work with Stacy Compton and the whole group there for some races at the end of this season,” said Gresham. “It’s going to be a big step in my career and it’s great I can take it with them. This is going to be important for me because I will be able to get laps under my belt before hopefully moving into the Truck Series full-time in 2012.”

Gresham has had an outstanding 2011 NASCAR K&N season posting two wins, eight top-five and 10 top-10 finishes in 11 events. The 18-year-old Belmont Abbey College freshman has also sat on the pole for four division events and is the only driver to complete every lap – all 1,553 circuits – in series competition this season.

Driving for Venturini Motorsports this year, Gresham notched an ARCA pole at Pocono (PA) Raceway in July and a season-best second-place ARCA finish at Michigan Speedway in June.

“We’ve been talking to Max quite a bit this season,” stated Compton, Turn One team owner. “We’ve watched him race the past couple of years. We felt like Max and our current Turn One driver, Cole Whitt, have as much talent or more than anyone coming through the sport. Chevrolet is really excited about working with another young talent like Max too. These guys are the NASCAR stars of the future and to have them in our stable now is really great.”

“Working with Stacy and all of his experience and Cole, a good friend of mine and one of the top rookies in the series this season, is going to provide a great learning environment for me,” said Gresham. “I’m looking forward to going to Las Vegas and running strong. I plan on learning a lot. That’s what this whole thing is about.”

Gresham’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series debut at Las Vegas Motor Speedway will take the green flag at 3 p.m. Eastern Time on Saturday, October 15.
