Dixie Speedway Suffers Storm Damage In Lee Aftermath

The historic Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, Georgia was a victim of the strong storms and high winds that tore through Georgia in the  of tropical storm Lee Monday afternoon.

The track’s aluminum grandstands outside the first turn were completely demolished, taking a portion of the catch fence with it.

The pit ticket booth suffered damage, as did of the pit concession stand, portions of the fence and some light poles.

The main structures, however were said to be fine, and weathered the storm with minimal to no damage.

As of press time, no decision had been made on the races planned for Saturday night.

The track’s website said Tuesday that work is underway to repair the storm damage, but no indication was made as to the effect it may have on the current race schedule.
