Danny Bagwell doubled up Saturday night, winning both feature events for the ISCARS Dash Series at Watermelon Capital Speedway in Cordele, Georgia.
Bagwell started the first race from the pole, battling with Eric Gerchak for the lead. Gerchak would eventually fall off the pace as Bagwell charged on to the victory. Joey Jones ran second, with Brian Wallis, Todd Hawkes and Nick Martin rounding out the top five.
With the top four finishers inverted, the second feature rolled off. Hawkes would lead the opening 13 laps before Bagwell found his was past. He would hang onto the lead to the end to sweep both events. Hawkes ran second, followed by Jones, Wallis and Scott Willingham.
In other action, Banks Perdue of Cordele, GA topped a strong field of cars to take the Mini-Stock feature. Brett Roberts ran second, with Jake Roberts third, BT Roberts fourth and James Pennington fifth.
Fitzgerald, Georgia’s Jimmy Nasworthy took top honors in the Enduro feature. Mary Brumbley finished second, with Jason Lang, Andy Mendieta and Jeff Davis rounding out the top five.
Mason Massey of Winston, Georgia scored the win in the Legends feature, followed by William Plemmons, Scott Mosely, Bill Plemmons and Alex Coffee.
In the Bandolero feature, Senoia, Georgia’s Joshua Hicks picked up the victory. Tyler Mosely finished second, with Megan Younginer third, Connor Younginer fourth and Bubba Harry fifth.
“The Melon” hosts Outlaw Late Models plus local racing on Saturday, Aug. 27.
Watermelon Capital will play host to round number five of the Georgia for Fair Tax / David Ragan Ford Outlaw Late Model Series plus regular racing in local classes which will include Bandoleros, Legends, Claimer, Mini Stock, Pure Stock, and Enduro.
