David Darnell fought hard early on to get out front of the B-Mini Stock Championship, then held the top spot for the rest of the way to pick up the win Friday night at Anderson Motor Speedway in Anderson, SC.
Darnell and Chad Campbell battled side by side the first two laps of the race before Darnell nailed down the top spot. Campbell ran nose to tail with Darnell throughout the remainder of the race but failed to make another bid to over take him. Campbell finished second. BJ Thrasher finished third. Chuck Mitchell finished fourth. Matt Meyers finished fifth.
In Super Renegade Action, Barry Tollison Jr. led every lap of the race to pick up the win, as he and his dad, Barry Tollison Sr., returned to the front with their usual one two finish. Barry Tollison finished second. Eddie Henderson finished third. Phillip Peters finished fourth.
Dylan Hall topped the field for the victory in C-Mini Stock race. Hall and Jack Kelly battled side by side the first lap of the race with Kelly holding a six inch difference at the line at the end of lap one. On lap two Hall pulled to the front down the backstretch. Once out front, Hall never looked back as he led the remainder of the race and picked up his first victory of the season. Jack Kelly finished second. Brandon Segars finished third. Chad Stewart finished fourth. Russell Powell finished fifth.
Ricky Burnett was the runaway winner of the Talking Phonebook Renegade race. Burnett easily out distanced the remainder of the field as he led every lap of the race. Greg Darnell finished second. Alex Guthrie finished third. Tracy Robertson finished fourth. Blake Gregory finished fifth.
Will Ragsdale went to victory lane in the B-M Modified race, leading every lap of the race on his way to the victory. Casey Tucker finished second. Alan Mitchell finished third. Bryce Malcolm finished fourth. Beanie Gillespie finished fifth.
In the Front Wheel drive feature, Tommy Davis had to battle back from early misfortune to claim the win. Davis started on the front row for the first attempt to start the main event but after a caution appeared Davis had to restart at the rear. Michael Staton and Justin Cone shared the lead while Davis worked his way back to the front. Davis moved back to the top spot near the middle of the race and held off Staton to clinch the victory. Michael Staton finished second. Justin Cone finished third. Ray Mullinax finished fourth. John Gray finished fifth.
Rex Brown was first to the checkered flag in the 600 Legends race. Phillip Bell led the first five laps of the race before he relinquished the top spot to Brown. Once out front Brown pulled away from the field and went on to take his second victory in a row. Phillip Bell finished second. Taylor Griffith finished third. Cory Parham finished fourth. Tim Holt finished fifth.
Racers’ Edge, the official parts distributor for Anderson Motor Speedway, presented two awards to the competitors on Friday night. Scott Hamby received the Racers’ Edge Hard Luck Award. Tommy Davis received the Racers’ Edge Hard Charger Award.
