It almost sounds like a broken record playing when Augie Grill pulls into victory lane at Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, Florida. The two-time Snowball Derby Champion has been a dominating force in the Super Late Model division in recent seasons and earned his record eighth-career Blizzard Series win in the Print Now 100 on Friday night.
“It feels really good anytime you can win at Five Flags,” said Grill. “Our cars have been really good the last few times out. We are still not as good as we would like to be at the end of 100 laps on old tires, but winning shows we’re on top of our game.”
Grill was fifth quick in qualifying and the redraw actually helped him to start fourth. Only five circuits into the race, he was the leader and began to check out on the field. Only a few restarts would slow the progress of Grill taking his record eighth Blizzard Series win. Friday night’s win also marks the third-straight year in which Grill has taken multiple wins in the series.
“It’s nice to win two,” said Grill. “I would like to win one or two more so we don’t have to worry about the points and the championship. To win that many here means you’re doing really well and that’s where we are at.”

Elliott was followed across the line by Jeff Fultz, fast time qualifier Grant Enfinger and Bubba Pollard. Four of the top five spots belonged to Grand American Race Cars, the chassis built in Alabama by Grill and his father Frankie Grill, which have won 10 straight Blizzard Series events.
“I figured Chase would be tough and when he got to second with 20 to go I was matching his times and that was our biggest threat,” said Grill. “He ended up second so GARC took the top two. I can’t believe that GARC has 10 in a row. That’s hard to accomplish and we got good racers in our cars, because it’s not just us; it’s Bubba and Chase winning as well.”
With the victory, Grill took a two-point lead over Grant Enfinger into the next race at Five Flags. Round one winner Bubba Pollard is third in points 27 markers back. David Rogers and Donnie Wilson round out the top five in the Blizzard Series standings.
